The Cargo Airline Association (CAA), the voice of the air cargo industry, issued the following statement on the cargo components of the arrangement reached between the United States and Mexico:
“CAA welcomes the arrangement between the U.S. Department of Transportation and Mexico’s Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communication, and Transport. This reflects sustained, high-level engagement by the U.S. and Mexican governments to ensure the rights of U.S. cargo carriers are upheld under the bilateral air transport agreement.
“CAA remains encouraged by this progress and optimistic that implementation of this arrangement will provide the certainty, stability, and market access needed to strengthen a critical corridor for North American trade and global supply chains. We look forward to continued collaboration with both governments, including sustained engagement to address remaining operational concerns at Felipe Angeles International Airport.”
