WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Cargo Airline Association (CAA) today voiced support for the Modern Skies Act following Secretary Sean Duffy and Sen. Eric Schmitt’s announcement highlighting broad aviation industry support for the legislation.
The Modern Skies Act would provide $30 billion to continue the modernization of the nation’s air traffic control system and invest in aviation infrastructure. CAA emphasized the importance of a modern and resilient National Airspace System (NAS) to the air cargo industry and the communities and businesses it serves.
“The nation’s cargo airlines are essential to connecting commerce and communities, moving the goods, products and supplies that businesses and families rely on every single day,” said CAA President Lauren Beyer. “A modern, resilient, and technology-enabled National Airspace System is critical to that mission. The CAA applauds President Trump, Secretary Duffy, Administrator Bedford and Senator Schmitt for their continued leadership and supports the proposed $30 billion investment to build on the significant modernization progress already underway. We urge Congress to provide the funding necessary to deliver a National Airspace System built for the future.”
CAA will continue working with the administration, Congress and stakeholders to support modernization of the NAS and the infrastructure and technology needed to support the nation’s air cargo network.
