Washington, D.C. – The Cargo Airline Association (CAA), the leading voice of the air cargo industry, announced its robust support for the air traffic modernization plan announced by Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy today.
“The Cargo Airline Association stands shoulder to shoulder with the broad cross-section of the aviation community under the Modern Skies Coalition who came together to endorse the Air Traffic modernization plan announced by Secretary Duffy,” said CAA President Lauren Beyer. “We must rebuild and modernize our air traffic infrastructure to enhance safety and improve efficiency for all operators in the national airspace, for the American public and the American economy.”
The Administration’s plan is a timely next step, building on last week’s $12.5 billion down payment made by the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure’s reconciliation provision. CAA looks forward to working with the Administration and Congress as they advance this plan to address our nation’s air traffic control challenges, including the need for robust 24/7 staffing, the acceleration of the deployment of innovative technologies, and better coordination for fewer disruptions to time-sensitive cargo operations.
“These investments are long overdue, and the time to act is now. We thank the President and Secretary Duffy for their leadership in prioritizing this critical need.”
