The Association’s activity in the regulatory arena is broad-based. As a complex international network, all cargo airlines can be affected by a multitude of U.S. and International regulations. Domestically, in the United States issues impacting the entire industry can arise in the areas of safety, security, environmental, air traffic modernization, taxation, trade facilitation and others.
In the U.S., the all-cargo industry is regulated by several administrative agencies. CAA’s primary focus is monitoring the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Internationally, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) certainly plays a role, as well as the European Union (EU) and European Commission (EC). We also work cooperatively with other aviation-related industry associations on joint efforts and positions.
